Venue and General Travel Information

We are delighted to welcome you to the Eighth International Conference on Durability of Concrete Structures (ICDCS 2025), taking place from 15–17 October 2025 at the James Watt Centre. This conference centre is conveniently located on the Heriot-Watt University campus in Edinburgh, United Kingdom.

The entrance to the James Watt Centre is located directly beside the University’s main reception.

Getting to Heriot-Watt University

Heriot-Watt University’s Edinburgh campus is well connected by public transport and is easily accessible from both Edinburgh Airport and the city centre (Waverley Station). We encourage delegates to use public transport where possible, as it is reliable and environmentally friendly.

✈️ From Edinburgh Airport

  • Public Transport:
    • AirBus 100/Tram to Haymarket Station, then Lothian Bus 25 to campus
    • Total journey: ~45–60 minutes
  • Taxi / Uber: ~10–15 minutes

🚉 From Edinburgh Waverley Train Station (City Centre)

  • Bus: Lothian Bus 25 from Princes Street to Heriot-Watt Campus (~40 minutes, £2.2)
  • The campus is served by 4 other Lothian buses services: 34, 35, 45 and 63. For further information and to create personalised timetables please visit their website: www.lothianbuses.com.   
  • Taxi: ~20–30 minutes (£25–£30)

Car Park

Visitors are welcome to use any of the following designated visitor car parks: A, B, H, I, and J.
Car Park J is the nearest to the main venue (James Watt Centre) and is recommended for convenience.

We advise arriving in good time and allowing approximately 5–10 minutes to walk from the car parks to the meeting venue. Please note that parking is strictly limited to visitor car parks only. Vehicles parked in other areas of the campus may be subject to enforcement and may receive a penalty notice.

Parking is free of charge.

Banquet Dinner (16 October 2025)

The conference banquet will be held at the Cannonball Restaurant, located directly in front of Edinburgh Castle on the Royal Mile.
