We look forward to welcoming you to the Eighth International Conference on Durability of Concrete Structures (ICDCS 2025) organised by Heriot-Watt University. This conference will take place in Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, from Wednesday 15TH to Friday 17TH October 2025.
The ICDCS conference series gathers leading experts in concrete durability from around the world. Its primary aim is to provide a platform for the exchange of knowledge and networking, facilitating discussion on the latest advancements in concrete technology, the assessment and monitoring concrete performance in both laboratory and site environments, the reuse and recycling of concrete, life cycle analysis, computational methods for concrete durability, service life predictions, the transition to Net-Zero and low-carbon technologies, and specialised applications (e.g., carbon capture and storage, carbon sequestration, and 3D printing). The conference also seeks to honour the founders of this conference series, Prof Wei-Liang Jin (Zhejiang University), Prof Tamon Ueda (Shenzen University), and Prof Jan Olek (Purdue University).
As part of ICDCS 2025, we will also be hosting the inaugural McCarter Symposium on Advances in Concrete Testing and Monitoring on 16 October 2025, in honour of the late Prof W John McCarter for his contributions to concrete testing and monitoring. This international symposium will feature presentations by invited speakers who have significantly contributed to the durability testing and monitoring of concrete structures.
